| Yansheng Li, born in 1943, is Deputy Director of the Arts Committee of the National Painting Research Institute and a senator of China's Political Consultative Committee. Li graduated from Central Fine Arts Institute with a master degree in traditional Chinese painting and gained skills from such masters in traditional Chinese paintings as Li Keran and Huang Zhou. Li's paintings have been chosen by State governors as gifts for foreign counterparts. French President Jacques Chirac regarded Li as "a great modern artist with extraordinary talents". Mr. Kofi Annan, UN Secretary General, remarked that his works are conceived very exquisitely. His works are displayed in the State Council, the Oversea Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council and the Chinese Embassy in France./td> |
